BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Ethics in publishing

Please see our information on Ethical Guidelines (Link).

Declaration of competing interest

There must be a discloser by all the authors, if there is any financial and personal relationships with other people or institutions/ organizations that could inappropriately influence or bias their work. For instance, potential conflicts of interest include stock ownership, employment, honoraria, consultancies, paid expert testimony, patent applications/ registrations, and grants or other funding. All authors should complete the declaration of competing interest statement (which, where relevant, may specify they have nothing to declare) using this template (Link) and paste the declaration on the last page of the manuscript before its submission via submission link.

Submission Declaration

Submission of an article indicates that the described work has not been published earlier (except in the form of an academic thesis, a published lecture or abstract, see Ethical Guidelines (Link), ‘Multiple, redundant or concurrent publication’ for more information), that the article is not or has not been under consideration for publication somewhere else, that all authors and the responsible authorities where the work was carried out tacitly or explicitly, approved the publication, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, including electronically without the written consent of the copyright-holder. For the verification of originality, the manuscript will be checked by the originality detection service Plagrarism check software.

With all submissions, a cover letter should be submitted. This letter should ensure that the manuscript is original and not published, and is not being or having been submitted to publish in any other journal, and that all the authors have read the paper and agree with its submission to RW Materials.

Employ of inclusive language

Inclusive language recognise conveys respect to all people, diversity, promotes equal opportunities and is sensitive to differences. The content should not make any assumptions about the commitments or beliefs of any reader; it does not contain anything which might implicate that one individual is on higher level to another in terms of gender, age, ethnicity, race, culture, sexual orientation, or health condition; and use inclusive language throughout.

Authors make sure that writing is free from bias, slang, stereotypes, reference to dominant culture or cultural assumptions. The journal advise to seek gender neutrality by using plural nouns wherever possible, just to avoid employing "he, she," or "he/she." We suggested to avoid the use of descriptors that refer to personal attributes like gender, age, ethnicity, race, culture, sexual orientation, disability unless they are relevant and valid.

We also recommend to avoid offensive or exclusionary terms whenever coding terminology is employed like “slave", "master", "whitelist" and "blacklist".

The above guidelines are signified as a point of reference to aid identify relevant language but are by no means exhaustive or definitive.

Changes to authorship

Authors should note that authorship changes are not allowed at proof stage (i.e. post acceptance of your paper). So, special care has been taken to ensure that the names and details of authors are correct at the time of submission of the manuscript. In very limited cases, changes of authorship will only be accepted where the paper has been resubmitted after review or significant revision, and as well as before the paper is accepted.

Our system converts the submitted manuscript to a single PDF file employed in the peer-review process. For the final publication, your article’s editable files (e.g., Word) are required to typeset. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, is sent by e-mail.

Submit your article

Please submit your article via submit link available on the homepage of each journal.

Suggesting reviewers

You are advised to submit the names and institutional e-mail addresses of at least three potential reviewers. Reviewers who are not considered by the journal are those who are colleagues, or who have co-authored or collaborated with you during the last three years.

Our journal's editors do not in favour of inviting reviewers who have potential competing interests with the authors. Furthermore, just to provide a wide and balanced evaluation of the work, as well as ensure scientific rigor, make sure suggest diverse candidate reviewers who hail from several countries/ regions from the author group. Also consider other diversity attributes e.g. gender, race and ethnicity, career stage, etc. Finally, you should not include existing members of the journal's editorial team, of whom the journal are already aware.

Important Note: The editor makes a decision whether or not to invite your suggested reviewers.

PREPARATION

Peer review

RW journal operates a single anonymised review process. Initially, all contributions will be assessed by the editor for suitability for the journal. Articles deemed worthy are then sent to least one independent expert reviewer for assessing the scientific quality of the article. The Editor is solely accountable for the final decision in respect of acceptance or rejection of articles. So, final decision is of Editor. There is no involvement of Editors in decisions about articles which are written by them or written by family members or colleagues or which relate to services or products in which the editor has an interest. Any such submission is subject to all of the journal's usual procedures, with peer review handled independently of the relevant editor and their research groups.

Use of word processing software

Our Editors hold the right to adjust style to certain standards of uniformity. Kindly employ Word or Word Perfect files for the text of your article.

Article Structure

Kindly follow this order when typing manuscripts:

  • Title,
  • Authors,
  • Affiliations,Abstract,
  • Abstract,
  • Keywords,
  • Main text,
  • Figures and Figure Captions
  • Tables.
  • Acknowledgements,
  • Appendix,
  • References,
  • Declarations

Kindly collate acknowledgements in a different section at the end of the manuscript before the references and also do not include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title or otherwise.

Text Layout:

Please use double spacing and wide (3 cm) margins i.e. avoid full justification, i.e., do not use a constant right-hand margin. Make sure that every new paragraph is clearly indicated. Number all pages consecutively and use font size of 12 or 10 pt and standard fonts.

Subdivision - numbered sections

Your article should be divided into defined and numbered sections clearly. All the subsections should be numbered like 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2, ...), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is excluded in section numbering). Employ this numbering also for internal cross-referencing: do not just refer to 'the text'. Any subsection may be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its own separate line.

Introduction

State the aims of the work as well as provide an adequate background, avoiding a comprehensive literature survey or a summary of the results.

Material and methods

Sufficiently provide details to allow the work to be reproduced by an independent researcher. Methods that are previously published should be summarised, and indicated by a reference. If quoting directly from a previously published method, use quotation marks and also cite the source. Any modifications to existing methods should also be described.

Theory/calculation

A Theory section should extend, not repeat, the background to the article already dealt with in the Introduction and lay the foundation for further work. In contrast, a Calculation section represents a practical development from a theoretical basis.

Results

Results should be clear and concise.

Discussion

This section should explore the significance of the results of the research work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

Conclusions

The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section, which may stand alone or form a subsection of a Discussion or Results and Discussion section.

Appendices

In case, if there is more than one appendix, they should be identified as A, B, etc. Formulae and equations in appendices should be given separate numbering: Eq. (A.1), Eq. (A.2), etc.; in a subsequent appendix, Eq. (B.1) and so on. Similarly for tables and figures: Table A.1; Fig. A.1, etc.

Essential title page information

  • Title. Concise and informative. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
  • Author names and affiliations. Where the family name may be ambiguous (e.g., a double name), please indicate this clearly. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address.
  • Corresponding author. Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address. Contact details must be kept up to date by the corresponding author.
  • Present/permanent address. If an author has moved since the work described in the article was done, or was visiting at the time, a "Present address" (or "Permanent address") may be indicated as a footnote to that author's name. The address at which the author actually did the work must be retained as the main, affiliation address. Superscript Arabic numerals are used for such footnotes.

Abstract

Abstract must be factual as well as concise. It should state three main points in brief like the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions. Generally, an abstract presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. For this cause, References should be avoided in the abstract, but in case essential, then cite the author(s) and year(s). Non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if necessary they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.

Note: Graphical abstract and highlights are mandatory for all manuscript submissions.

Keywords

Exactly after the abstract, supply a maximum of five keywords. Every keyword must be accompanied by the capital letter indicating the category from which the keyword has been selected.

Abbreviations

On the first page of the article, define abbreviations that are not standard in this field in a footnote to be placed. Such abbreviations that are unavoidable in the abstract must be defined at their first mention there, as well as in the footnote. Author make sure the consistency of abbreviations throughout the article.

Acknowledgements

Kindly collate acknowledgements in a different section at the end of the manuscript before the references and also do not include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title or otherwise. You can list here those individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., providing writing assistance, language help, or proof reading the article, etc.).

Formatting of funding sources

You should list the funding sources in the below standard way to facilitate compliance to funder's requirements: Funding: This work was supported by the Department of science and technology [grant numbers xxxx, yyyy].

Do not include detailed explanation on the program or kind of grants and awards. In case funding is from a block grant or other resources available to a university, college, or other research institution, provide the name of the institute or organization that provided the funding.

On the other hand, no funding has been provided for the research, kindly include the following sentence: This research did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.

Units

Do follow internationally accepted rules and conventions: use the international system of units (SI). If other units are mentioned, please give their equivalent in SI. For example, temperatures should be given in degrees Celsius.

Math formulae

Submit math equations in the form of editable text and not as images. Please present simple formulae in line with normal text wherever possible and employe the solidus (/) instead of a horizontal line for small fractional terms, for instance, X/Y. In principle, variables are to be presented in italics. Powers of e are often more conveniently denoted by exp. Number consecutively any equations that have to be displayed separately from the text (if referred to explicitly in the text).

Footnotes

Be sparing while using Footnotes. Throughout the article number them consecutively. Various word processors builds footnotes into the text, and this feature may be used. On the other hand, kindly indicate the location of footnotes in the manuscript and list the footnotes themselves separately at the end of the article. You are requested to not include footnotes in the Reference list.

Artwork

Electronic artwork

General points

  • Make sure you use uniform lettering and sizing of your original artwork.
  • Preferred fonts: Times New Roman (or Times), Arial (or Helvetica), Symbol, Courier.
  • Number the illustrations according to their sequence in the manuscript.
  • Use a logical naming convention for your artwork files.
  • Ensure that colour images are accessible to all, including those with impaired colour vision.

Tables

You are advised to submit tables as editable text and not in the form of images. You can place tables either next to the relevant text in the article. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the manuscript and caption the table is obligatory. Be sparing in the use of tables and make sure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Try to avoid employing vertical rules and also shading in table cells.

References

Citation in text

Authors make sure that each reference cited in the manuscript is present in the reference list also (and vice versa). All the references cited in the abstract should be given in full. Results which are not yet published as well as personal communications may be mentioned in the text but not recommended in the reference list. In case author wants to include such references in the reference list, then author should follow the standard reference style of the journal and should include a substitution of the publication date with either 'Unpublished results' or 'Personal communication'. Citation of a reference as 'in press' implies that the item has been accepted for publication.

Make sure that each reference cited in the text is also included in the list of references and vice versa. The use of unpublished results and personal communications in the reference list is not recommended but may be cited in the text. If these references are entered in the list of references, they should adhere to the standard reference style of the journal and consist of the "unpublished results" or "personal communications" as a replacement for the publication date. References cited as "in press" indicate that those references have been accepted for publication.

References should appear in the following formats.

  • Reference style
Text: Indicate references by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text. The actual authors can be referred to, but the reference number(s) must always be given.
